Child support is determined in great part by a formula promulgated
by the Texas Legislature. The gross income (less taxes, etc.) of an
obligor is used to determine child support. There are other factors
that can be considered where merited by the circumstances. Those
values will be plugged into the formula and child support
calculated. Child support is subject to the continuing jurisdiction
of the court and may be raised or lowered when there is a material
change in circumstances.
